Internet Impact

Number of WIFI Users Registered

Checking our emails, updating our Facebook statuses, surfing the web, etc. – it has all become second nature to most of us yet for many low-income families, paying for internet packages per month is a luxury they hardly can afford. The Free WiFi at the I-CAN Centre, offered to its members, offers them the opportunity to be connected to the outside world. Based on the comparison of user registrations and WiFi users, we discovered that many citizens do not have adequate WiFi-enabled devices that allows them to connect wirelessly to the WIFI. The number below displays the number of citizens (I-CAN members) that have signed up for WI-FI at the Centre from Sept 2015 – March 2017.
